Students will be placed in this ensemble after an audition and conference with your middle school director or with Mrs. Irvin (Director of Bands and Orchestra) at DMHS. The Wind Ensemble is an elite group of only 50 members. The Wind Ensemble rehearses concert band literature throughout the year from composers ranging from Alfred Reed to Hans Zimmer. The literature for this ensemble is at the college level. Members of this ensemble will be one to a part, except for clarinets, flutes, and euphoniums. If you wish to be in this ensemble you will need to audition before registering in the class. Auditions will consist of major scales memorized and a prepared piece. You CANNOT register for the class without permission from Mrs. Irvin.
